Sidney’s Mel Hoffman was the top Montana finisher in yesterday’s 112th running of the Boston Marathon. It was the third year in a row that the 44 year old Hoffman took that honor. He finished with a time of two hours, 52 minutes, 27 seconds over the 26.2-mile course and placed 550th overall in a field of more than 25 thousand runners. Fairview runner Kenneth Newhall finished a little over 11 minutes behind Hoffman in a time of three hours, 3 minutes and 14 seconds.
